HANDS National Conference 2022 (Together We Can)
National Conference was held at HANDS Head Office from 11th to 13th October 2022, all the Project Managers presented their respective project achievements, challenges and way forward. There were 42 posters of 73 projects presented by Project Managers of six service delivery departments of HANDS including health, education, inclusive development and disaster management, livelihood, WASH and IDEAS Program. Awards were also distributed among top 10 winners and poster of Foundation Assisted School got 1st position.

Poster exhibition at SU enthrals visitors
A huge poster exhibition was organized by the Institute of Microbiology, University of Sindh Jamshoro, featuring 65 different projects on the three leading subjects of haematology, parasitology and recombinant DNA technology, which has greatly enthralled and attracted the visitors and students as these projects were looking professional.
The exhibition was arranged by the efforts and interest of active teachers of the Institute of Microbiology Dr. Bushra Patoli and Dr. Atif Patoli who are engaged in constant endeavors to do something new for their students and deliver in a unique way.
On the occasion, 3 judges including Director Institute of Microbiology Prof. Dr. Sarfraz Ali Tanio, Director Institute of Biotechnology & Genetic Engineering Prof. Dr. Muhammad Rafique and Director Institute of Biochemistry Prof. Dr. Naseem Aslam Channa selected 3 best posters for the prize and the creators of those posters were awarded at the ceremony.
The students who grabbed the first, second and third positions were given certificates of appreciation and shields.
Teachers of Institute of Microbiology Dr. Shagufta Jabeen, Dr. Abdul Nabi Mirjat, Dr. Faryal Kushik and many others were also present at the ceremony.
Speaking on the occasion, the event organizer Dr. Bushra Patoli said that the purpose of holding the poster exhibition was to give an opportunity to the students to showcase their talents.
She said that subjects like hematology, parasitology and recombinant DNA technology were related to the plants, animals and humans, therefore, she said such an exhibition had been organized to develop students' interest.
Dr. Bushra Patoli further said that a grand poster exhibition would be organized soon and students from different fields of natural science would be given an opportunity to participate in it so that they could present their projects.

The University of Sindh, the oldest University of the country, was constituted under the University of Sindh Act. No. XVII of 1947 passed by the Legislative Assembly of Sindh. The Act was subsequently revised and modified in 1961 and later. The Act of 1972 under which the University is presently functioning provided for greater autonomy and representation of teachers .
The Department of Microbiology was established in 1995-96 to develop indigenous manpower experts in the field of Microbiology in order to increase the employability in the field of clinical, industrial, environmental and molecular microbiology. Currently this department is running in its own building since 2008. It offers BS four years program, MS / M.Phil. program and in coming future Ph. D. program with the aims to have graduates high knowledge and research abilities and to promote them in private sectors, government organizations in order to develop the manpower with high technology, to organize interdisciplinary discussions, developing research networks and to facilitate the latest technical information pertaining to the emergence of infectious diseases, laboratory bio-safety and the self preventive measures from the hazardous agents.
